This year's slam is part of the Cygnet Theatre’s 40th Anniversary festival
Tim King and Ysella Sims proudly host 12 of the finest poetic performers in the South West as they compete in the 11th instalment of this annual knock out competition.
In addition to the kudos and abundant opportunities for further paid gigs, there's a £100 prize for the winner alongside £50 and £20 for the two runners up.
The quality of each performance, together with the content and audience reaction, will be judged by our expert panel. Each of the judges will also be taking a turn at the mic, to show us how it's done. They are:
Jonny Fluffypunk – not only a warm and wonderful human being but also the World's foremost exponent of the Sustainable Nihilist school of performance poetry.
Kimwei - poet, storyteller, musician, campaigner and Grand Bard of Exeter.
Harula Ladd - 2019 Exeter Slam! champion and rising star on the national spoken word scene.
